Qualified for the Boston!
posted 2 years agoThis weekend was the St. George Marathon. I had quite a few friends run in it and I want to congratulate all of them. Scott H, Nick, Troy, Adam, Melody and I am sure there are some I forgot. Sorry for those I forgot to mention. There were many great goals met and challenges beaten that day, but….
Let me tell ya little story ‘bout a man Named Haun
(yes, this is the Beverly Hillbillies song… now let me start over)Let me tell ya little story boy a man named Haun,
He sorta lost his mind and was looking for some fun,
Then one day he saw a jogger on the street
and thought to himself that might be neeeeaaat.Running that is…. walking fast…. suicide.Well, the next thing you know ol’ Troy is on the move,
Kin folk said ‘Troy you really gotta groove’,
They said ‘Hey ‘Troy ya otta run the St. G’
Troy took it on cuz he just that crazzeeeee. Now hes done…. ran it all…. he is a freakin’ star!(whew…. glad that song part is over… thats not easy!)
You may remember from an earlier post about some of my other neighbors up here that run a ‘little bit’. Those guys have been at it for a while, this is Troys first year running in organized races. The fact that he just came off a cruise vacation about 1 week before he ran leaves us all scratching our heads about his training techniques though. He ran the whole freakin’ thing without walking! In Troys own words he even over came his “fat induced asthma’. (Love that line!!)
;I don’t want to take away from anyone else’s awesome performance at the marathon, but I thought Troy earned his own post. In all seriousness Troy you did great. Very inspirational and one heck of a friend. Way to go.
Congratulations! Hopefully I’ll see you there!
