A True Long Run... Dependingly
Today was my long run and instead of the usual ~10-15k long run I did half marathon and a bit more (~+22km) trying to keep pace with my end goal for making my 3;10 goal. I was a little slower than I was hoping however I was able to keep a steady pace throuought the whole distance. There was a bit of struggle between 5-7km where I was feeling faigue but once I got threw the 1-2km after than my...

Running At Sunrise
Went running this morning for training. I’m trying this new thing where I train in the morning and have my evenings off to work on some personal projects etc. Getting up before dawn and warming up and going for a run is actually pretty bad-ass, somehow, I’m not sure why thought. I also seem to have a little bit more energy to run despite I’m still partially asleep. I <3 it...

5km Route for Time
I am not an early morning person but I am going to try and get this 5km time run in tomorrow morning before work; hopefully. This means waking up at 6 eating a light snack warming up and than heading out. I am hoping that I will have more energy in the morning than in the evening when after work which is usually around 9;30 ish before i get out again for training. Hopefully my new AM tactic will...

Three runners die in Detroit marathon
mizzzfit:
My heart goes out to the families of three brave souls who died today before completing the Detroit Free Press/Flagstar Marathon in Detroit, Michigan:
http://cnnwire.blogs.cnn.com/2009/10/18/3-detroit-marathon-runners-die/
All three men collapsed near the end of the race. This is tragic news, but I have to assume they died doing something they loved very much. And wherever they...

Long Trail Run & Intervals
Today main wo, ran a bunch of 1km intervals, beautiful day for a run and being outside. Much more with it today than yesterdays long trail run. Struggling yesterday as I just couldn’t get in the groove. Pushed threw the whole thing but it didn’t come easy, thats life eh, on and off days. None-the-less yesterday was also a great day to be out and in the forest running not complaining...

remember not to look down at your watch to stop your time at the marathon finish. look refreshed as a daisy for the pictures. and try to finish under the clock with no other runners blocking you. the finish picture is totally worth it.

Addiction
myperfectlyflawedlife:
When I know I’m gonna do it I’m excited,
But just before I get ready to go forth
There is a moment of hesitation.
I stop. I have a mental debate that tells me:
This is gonna affect your body
Your gonna be so high once it is over
You will hate yourself every moment you do this.
Yet something always pushes me to do it,
Maybe will, Maybe peer pressure.
And when I...

Mental and physical break from running for at least 8 days. And that’s only because it is going to be cold and rainy in Boston this weekend. So, after a weekend (10/10 - 10/11) of 26.2 miles, I’m actually going to trick my body into breaking an addiction from running. I figure by Saturday morning I’ll have decreased my standard amount of endorphins to such a point that I’ll wake...

Today a road ride!
Today I am doing a 1.5-2h road ride to keep me moving, work on aerobics and to mix it up with the impact of running. Going to head along the waterfront out to Oshawa. My aim it to leave by just after 6 and be back by dark - so when ever that is.

Did my workout today, consisting of aerobic warm up and stretching, followed by leg strengthening drills and a bunch of core strengthening. The cool down consisted of walking than some yoga. For my yoga cool downs I have been listening to Taken By Trees. There like Swedish alt yoga music, I love them!

Thanksgiving Training w/ The Rouge
Went for the first trail run this weekend in The Rouge Valley it was great fun! I’ve never trail ran before but it was a good ~13-14km. Last week my long run was done on path/road as it was raining too hard to get any trails in but for sure, by far this is going to be my highlight of my training, the trail runs. More on The Rouge.

October 6th training
Did some strength training and worked on my pacing. It rained. The last 3 days I’ve been out, the previous 3 days it has rained while raining. Hopefully it makes me faster. Or at least used to the dampness in Seattle. My shoes are never dry. Life is great. Running in the rain listening to Miike Snow is the best feeling ever; and The Virgins too.

Cool temperatures + sun = a great run! More! More!
Delightful! I was stuck in a rain storm the other day but it was sunny off in the distance, listening to Miike Snow, it was fantastic too.

About Me
I have always enjoined running but never thought much of setting goals or having achievements for the sport. Running has always been a stress releaver more than anything else. Out of the blue I had the idea to run a marathon, not any marathon thought, the Boston Marathon. Because of only conjuring this goal and acting on it the beginning of this week just missing the Toronto Marathon (which I...
